William H. Wyse Family Photos

Some of the people depicted here may also occur in the William Harrison Kelly photo gallery.

Bigger This could be Grandma Mohney according to Sue McMorris (Sue, please confirm that I noted this correctly.) Grandma Mohney would be the mother of Faye's mother (Mary Mohney Wyse), Margaret Johnston Mohney (1844-1917). Sue says that when excited or jovial, she spoke with a brogue. Bigger This is a portrait in an oval frame. Is this also Margaret Mohney? Bigger William Wyse and another man dressed in their mining gear, along with mine pony (mule?). Many of the Wyses moved to Ohio when the mines shut down. Bigger The Wyses, William and Margaret. At a guess they could be 60, which would make the picture about 1940, since both were born in 1882. He died in 1942. Bigger Standing: unidentified - perhaps Paul Shannon, who worked at the granite "shop".
Seated, back row: both unidentified.
Seated, front row: Susan Passmore Kelly, Faye Wyse Kelly with "Billy" (William Henderson Kelly, Sr.), Mary Wyse, Margaret Mohney, William Wyse. Baby Billy was born in Sept 1932, so this picture is from 1932 or 1933. The house is ___.
Bigger My copy of this picture is too fuzzy to identify anyone. Bigger My copy of this picture is too fuzzy to identify anyone. Bigger The Wyse home in Patton, which makes me think this is Faye, Mary and William Wyse, and Clair Kelly. Bigger The Wyse home in Patton, with Mary and William Wyse? Bigger Grandmotherly woman with three children. I think Sue had a suggestion as to who this was...

Another Wyse Family Portrait

This was in the posession of my father, William Kelly, after he borrowed them in the 80's or 90's to make copies, which he never did. Perhaps he returned them to Sue McMorris, perhaps not. I made photocopies while he had them, and scanned them in later, so the quality has suffered considerably. (I had a suspicion that Dad's project would not move quickly.) Only a few of the pictures have an inscription on them.

William and Mary Wyse with 5 children. Seated are William and Mary Mohney Wyse. Faye Wyse is standing behind her mother, so the small girl is presumably Jean. The boys are Cliff, William Jr, and George, but we can't say which is which; at a guess, the boy on the left is the oldest, therefore William, the one in the middle is the next, Clifford, and the one on the right would then be George. Jean was born 1911, and another child, Russell, died 1912 of appendicitis. This picture is then taken around 1914.
