The Commemorative Biographical Record of Clearfield Co states, "On attaining to man's estate Mr. [William H.] Passmore of this review, was united in marriage with Miss Mary Fox, of Lycoming county, Penn., a daughter of Mathias and Susan Fox, well-to-do farming people, who came to Brady Township, Clearfield county, from Lycoming county in 1836, and located near Troutville." I have located Mathias and Susan in Lycoming Co in the 1820 and 1830 census, possibly in Clearfield in 1840, and in Jefferson Co adjoining Brady Township in 1850. He was born circa 1790, wife Susan circa 1791, and they had at least 8 children, the last of whom were Elizabeth, Mary, and Mathias. Before 1820, there are no Foxes in the Lycoming Co. census. Did Mathias come from the (then) adjoining counties of Luzerne or Northumberland, where there are many Foxes, or is he related to Mathias Fox of Berks or Adams county seen in the 1810 census? Any help appreciated!

A. Fox, which doesn't fit anywhere, since 3 CONT the wife of Mathias is Susana, not M.A., and no son 3 CONT William is not listed in the 1850 census.
