Systematik: Gattung Momotus (Momotus); Familie Momotidae (Momotidae)Allgemein: Habe ein in Monteverde gesehen, ich war überrascht aber es hat gewartet, damit ich es fotografiren konnte.
Allgemein: Der Ruf tönt für mich wie das Quaken eines Frosch. Der Gesang hat ein paar Noten, nicht typisch Frosch, aber klingt trotzden etwas ähnlich.
Etymologie: Both motmot and bobo (the name Costa Ricans use) are onomatopoeia, meaning their name sounds like the call they make: “mot-mot” or “bo-bo.” [Link]
