Wildertweiher with migratory birds and others, December 2024

This time I walked from Fehraltorf to Illnau and took the train home from there - to avoid looking into the sun.
Probably saw a waterrail in a field just before the bridge where pedestrians can go under the railroad. I had never thought that the little brook there could be a hiding place for waterbirds. Heard a fieldfare, which Merlin and Birdweather also hear here, but unfortunately I didn't seen them this time, as previously in Wildert. The highlights were that I actually saw and photographed 6-8 siskins in a tall tree (it's been a few years since I've seen them), and that for the first time ever I photographed a black woodpecker! A total of 10 species is included.
